The Equality and Diversity Forum's objectives are:

• The elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race, gender and gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, age, religion or belief and the promotion of equality and broader human rights;

• Advancing education and raising awareness about equality and diversity and broader human rights;

• Promoting activities to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds and to foster public support for diversity and human rights;

• Conducting or commissioning research on equality and diversity issues and broader human rights and publishing the results to the public; and

• Cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity and human rights.
