Human Rights Watch: Brexit Without Women

In a June 2017 article for Human Rights Watch, Heather Barr criticises the lack of female voices as UK negotiations with the EU begin.

Women will be disproportionately effected if worker’s rights are undermined:  an estimated 75% of Britain’s part-time workers are women, and EU law has been instrumental in preventing discrimination in this area.

Barr notes:  “the new UK government does not have a single woman minister in the Foreign Office, and just one in the Brexit department.”
