EDF held a conference in June 2005 to hear directly from the new Ministerial team about the Equality Bill and plans for the Commission for Equality and Human Rights.
On 25 February 2005 an Equalities Review to investigate the causes of persistent discrimination and inequality in British society was announced by the Government.
On 21 October 2004, the Equality and Diversity Forum and JUSTICE hosted a seminar on the Northern Ireland Single Equality Bill Consultation.
The Equality and Diversity Forum submitted a response to the White Paper on the Government’s proposal to establish a Commission for Equality and Human Rights.
In July 2004, EDF held a one-day conference to consider the Government’s White Paper ‘Fairness for All’ on the proposal to establish a Commission for Equality and Human Rights.
A reception with Jacqui Smith, Deputy Minister for Women and Equality, was hosted by EDF and the All Party Parliamentary Group on Equalities in July 2004.
In May 2004, EDF submitted a proposal to the Better Regulation Task Force.
In February 2004, EDF hosted a seminar to launch a report titled ‘taking equal opportunities seriously: the extension of positive duties to promote equality’ by Colm O’Cinneide.
