Age UK’s National Engagement team is recruiting volunteers for a new NHS England Sounding Board Pilot. The advert states:
“Are you interested in helping shape the best quality and most relevant healthcare services for the over 50’s?
You could have this opportunity as a Patient & Public Voice Volunteer for a pilot of a new NHS England Sounding Board.
In this volunteer role with Age UK, you will have the opportunity to engage with senior NHS England policy staff, inform their decision making and share your experience of taking part in the pilot. The Sounding Board Pilot will complement other activities NHS England has in place to engage with audiences of all generations. Patient & Public Voice Volunteers are approaching or in retirement.
The Sounding Board will give you the opportunity to contribute to the development of NHS England’s national health policy, the development of health services and their commissioning. You will consider, from the perspective of your life experience and knowledge, the impacts for older people in a way that plans for the future and cares for the present.
The Pilot will include an induction and taster session on the 13th December 2016 and two full Sounding Board meetings on the 31st January and 29th March 2017 followed by a review of the pilot together, on 27th April 2017 to assess how it has worked for all involved.
