Action on Hearing Loss: research on hearing loss in the workplace

In November 2011, Action on Hearing Loss published ‘Unlimited Potential?’, a research report looking at hearing loss in the workplace.

It looks at the experiences of 27 people who lost some or all of their hearing whilst of working age. What support did they receive from their work and from other sources? What support would they have liked to receive? The report also includes statistics from the charity’s 2010 annual survey of members, where 40% of respondents who lost their hearing whilst of working age said this made them feel less confident in their abilities.

The report suggests lots of solutions to improve the workplace experience for people with hearing loss.
