The Equality and Diversity Forum’s objectives are:

1. The elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, age, religion or belief and the promotion of equality and broader human rights;
2. Advancing education and raising awareness in equality and diversity and broader human rights;
3. Promoting activities to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds and to foster public support for diversity and human rights;
4. Conducting or commissioning research on equality and diversity issues and broader human rights and publishing the results to the public; and
5. Cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity and human rights.
